Bon’s Bling added her second career victory at Echuca on Melbourne Cup Day in a defiant performance in one of the races of the day, with a wall of six horses fighting out the finish down the straight.

Bon’s Bling has the largest stride length that we have ever recorded in the stable, over 8.4m metres and when she is improving her gallop with the speed coming on, it can look like she is under pressure as she is gathering herself and getting into her work. As Alana Kelly balanced her up in the straight, Bon’s Bling fought off all rivals and went to the line in a battle with Cosmic Charger and fortunately was able to get her head down on the line, winning by a nose.

Her second win from only four starts, the lightly raced daughter of Bon Aurum has given Ken King and his team of owners a great thrill to date and looks to have a good future. After a slightly disappointing run at Bendigo where she was caught wide from a poor draw, it was fantastic to see Bon’s Bling bounce back to winning form. Freedman said “we are thrilled for Ken King and his team to build on Bon’s Bling impressive record to date. She possesses good talent, an enormous action for a medium sized horse and we think she is one to follow into the future. Ken is a great supporter for the team and we always enjoy having a winner in his colours.”
