Farmelia Metropolitan Win On Debut
Friday, 29 May 2026
Farmelia announced herself as a filly with serious upside, winning on debut at Caulfield Heath on Wednesday May 27.
The daughter of Farnan was a $140,000 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale purchase and had created a strong impression at the jumpouts leading into her debut, sent to the races with plenty of stable confidence behind her.
Despite her inexperience and taking on the older horses, Farmelia handled the day like a true professional, showed natural speed and put the race away with authority when asked to extend. It wasn’t just a maiden win — it was the manner of the victory that caught the eye.
Post race Freedman said "We are delighted with the result, she is a filly who keeps putting her hand up and ticking the boxes, so we were happy to go to the races, it was really pleasing to see her get a metropolitan win on debut for great group of owners."
Every season produces a handful of maiden winners that immediately go into the black book, Farmelia looks to be one of them!
