Switch Hit Continues Rise With Ararat Victory
Thursday, 27 Nov 2025
Progressive gelding Switch Hit continued his impressive campaign with a determined win at Ararat on November 25, securing his second victory of the preparation and the third of his career.
Ridden by Jarrod Fry, Switch Hit travelled sweetly just better than midfield and was able to creep into the race down the side on a below-average tempo. As the race came on in the straight, Fry eased his mount into clear air, and Switch Hit responded with a sharp turn of foot, hitting the front with approximately 100m to go. He was strong to the line, holding off his rivals to win by just under half a length.
Trainer Mitch Freedman said post-race, “We are really pleased for Switch Hit to be hitting some form through the spring. He is still very lightly raced as a five-year-old, with this being only his 11th start, so it’s been great to have him trending the right way and we think he can keep rising through the grades this preparation.”
With three wins now on the board and confidence sky-high, Switch Hit shapes as a reliable and improving type capable of making further impact as the summer racing season unfolds.
Congratulations to the connections involved in Switch Hit!
