Salizou continued her remarkable rise with a brilliant victory at Flemington, delivering the Mitch Freedman stable a memorable milestone, becoming the team's 47th winner of the season and sets a new career-best tally.

There could hardly have been a more fitting venue to break the record than at Flemington, with the lightly raced daughter of Zousain producing an outstanding performance just six days after her previous victory on the Ballarat Polytrack. Now three wins from four starts, the quick turnaround was a superb training effort from the stable, assisted by Jye McNeil's perfectly judged ride.

Salizou was just off-midfield and needed a touch of luck at the top of the home straight, yet McNeil looked to have plenty on offer, providing she was afforded the right run. When the gap finally appeared, she exploded through with an electric turn of foot, quickly putting the race beyond doubt and surging clear to score by just under two lengths.

Freedman said "She was in tip top shape (on the back up) and blossomed after her win at Ballarat. She is a horse with immense talent, but we feel she is 12 - 18 months away." Now a metropolitan winner at start four - the future looms very bright for Salizou as she rises through the grades.
