Tatakai Uta Wins At Swan Hill Carnival

Tatakai Uta delivered a dominant maiden victory at Swan Hill on Saturday, breaking through in impressive fashion, despite still showing signs of greenness throughout the race.

Heavily supported into the short odds of $1.35, Alana Kelly did a good job to keep the lightly raced youngster balanced and attacking the line, prevailing by just under a length. Whilst the winning margin may have kept the his connections and followers nervous, Tatakai Uta always had the race in his grasp and he will take great confidence from this performance.
Tatakai Uta was a $50,000 purchase from the 2024 Inglis Classic and looms to be another exciting 3year-old prospect.

Freedman said "He is a talented horse with a lot to learn but he is an exciting prospect for the future. His jump out between runs was scintillating at Horsham and we felt he would be very competitive at Swan Hill. It's always a great thrill to train a winner at the Swan Hill Carnival."

Tatakai Uta became Mitch Freedman's 39th winner of the season, equaling the stable's total from the entire 2024/25 campaign with almost two months remaining in the current racing season. The result highlights the continued growth of the operation and sets the stable up for a strong finish to the season.

Congratulations to all involved!
