A daring ride from John Allen saw Just Swift finally break her maiden, stepping up to the 2100m for the first time on Tuesday August 25.

Just Swift is perhaps the biggest horse in the stable and has been racing very consistently, albeit without a great deal of luck going her way. From the wide gate, John Allen allowed Just Swift to find her rhythm on an even tempo, then down the side as the speed came out of the race, he rolled forward, taking the race on and was left a long way in front at the corner. Just Swift continued to grind away to the line, out-staying her rivals to win by 1.25lengths.

Freedman said "She has been racing well, particularly on the polytrack in recent weeks and after discussions with her owner, Mr Howard, we elected to test her over the 2100m. It was a great ride by Johnny and we are thrilled for Mr Howard to get a win on the board."

Just Swift will take great confidence from this performance and running a strong 2000m adds another string to her bow.
