Four For Freedman with Sacramental's Swan Song
Friday, 31 Jul 2026

Sacramental signed off for the Mitch Freedman stable in the perfect fashion, producing a drought breaking victory at Swan Hill, recording the fourth win of his career and completed a memorable four-timer for the stable.
The success capped off an outstanding day for the team, with Mitch Freedman preparing half the card's winners in a remarkable training performance. It also brought up the stable's 10th winner for July, striking at an impressive winning percentage of over 30% for the month - arguably the hottest stable in the country!
A talented but often frustrating horse throughout his career, Sacramental has always required careful management to bring out his best. In the lead-up to Swan Hill, Freedman altered the gelding's routine, utilising all the fantastic facilities the Ballarat Turf Club has, most notably the Ballarat hill track to freshen his mind and reignite his enthusiasm. The change proved a masterstroke, with Sacramental responding in the best possible way to return to the winner's stall for the first time in 466 days.
While Sacramental often kept the stable on its toes, his Swan Hill victory was a timely reminder of the talent he possesses on his day. Having since been sold through Inglis Digital, it was especially satisfying to farewell him with another success before he embarks on the next chapter of his racing journey.
