Adjudicate Too Strong At Donald
Monday, 13 Jul 2026
Adjudicate added the third victory of his career with a determined performance at Donald on Saturday, digging deep to find the line and reward his ownership group.
Partnered by Dean Yendall, the gelding enjoyed a smooth run throughout and under the large weight of 62kg, Yendall was able to build the gelding through his gears and ensure he remained focused on the task at hand. Although strongly challenged over the final furlong, Adjudicate refused to give in, displaying plenty of courage and determination to continue finding under pressure and hold his rivals at bay.
The victory was particularly satisfying for McGrath Racing and the ownership group, with Adjudicate having endured his share of bad luck in recent months. On two separate occasions this winter, he had accepted for races that were subsequently abandoned, delaying his opportunity to return to the winner's stall.
Freedman said "It's great to get another win on the board with Adjudicate. We have learnt that he enjoys wet ground and unfortunately in our pursuit of this, we have had a couple of false starts in what looked to be suitable races. He is a horse who can put the white flag up and things get tough, so it was really pleasing to see him respond to the challenge today."
Keep your eyes pulled for Adjudicate on wet ground as the depth of winter continues, let's hope this win gives him plenty of confidence as he now steps up in grade. Congratulations to all involved!
