Two Wins From Three Starts For Salizou
Tuesday, 14 Jul 2026

Salizou continued her exciting start to her racing career with a victory in testing conditions at Ballarat on Sunday July 12, recording the second win of her three-starts to date.
The lightly raced daughter of Zousain handled the challenging conditions, producing another professional performance adding to her improving early record. The form around the filly has been positive, with three subsequent winners coming out of her debut winning maiden and five winners from her second start at Pakenham, where she was competitive without luck in a strong field.
The stable has always held the filly in high regard, and her latest success reinforces the belief that she is an exciting filly for the future. Freedman said post race "We think she will be at her best at four and five, but she has good natural talent and is a true professional to do anything with. We had an enforced period between runs first and second up with a little setback, so it was great to see her bounce back into form here."
Salizou's victory was the Freedman team's 46th winner of the season, equaling Freedman's career-best tally with a fortnight of the racing season still remaining and plenty of runners yet to step out.
With two wins from just three career starts and every indication there is further improvement to come, Salizou is shaping as another exciting young horse to follow in the seasons ahead.
